Trinity International has officially launched its Singapore office to enhance its presence in the region and meet the increasing demand for infrastructure and project development expertise.

Fiona Gulliford, partner and head of Trinity International’s Asia-Pacific practice, told Asia Business Law Journal that the firm’s expansion into Singapore was driven by both the significant workload in the region and the need to closely align with its clients, some of whom have increasingly shifted their focus towards the Asia-Pacific.

“We saw an ideal opportunity to replicate the model we developed in Sub-Saharan Africa and other emerging markets to focus on infrastructure and project transactions in emerging jurisdictions,” said Gulliford.

Gulliford has transferred from London to Singapore to lead the firm’s regional operations and growth.

Joining Gulliford in the Singapore office is former senior consultant Maxime Damphousse, who is now the managing director.

Trinity’s head of global strategy, Kaushik Ray, will oversee the firm’s expansion in the region, with further hires and announcements expected soon.

“A key part of our practice is to help governments meet net-zero targets and transition away from fossil fuels in countries often vulnerable to the impacts of climate change,” said Gulliford.

The firm also appointed George Williams as counsel, making him the third lawyer in the office.
