O’Melveny & Myers has added Stephanie Keen and Sylvia Taslim as partners in Singapore, as the firm anticipates an increase in M&A deals.
“We anticipate deal activity will continue to intensify, thanks to pent-up demand but also due to Singapore’s advantageous and growing position as a deal centre in Asia,” the firm told Asia Business Law Journal.
Keen and Taslim, formerly partners at Hogan Lovells, join as partners in O’Melveny’s M&A practice.
“The demand is multi-faceted, ranging from major US and Asia-based corporates expanding their presence in Southeast Asia, using Singapore as a hub, to mid-market private equity investments from traditional players, along with increased interest from China funds and corporates looking to expand within the region,” Keen and Taslim told Asia Business Law Journal.
Keen, who served as managing partner at Hogan Lovells Singapore and led the firm’s Asia-Pacific private equity practice, brings nearly three decades of experience advising corporations, lenders and private equity sponsors on high-value, cross-border deals. Her expertise spans leveraged buyouts, M&A, equity offerings and corporate restructurings, with a focus on delivering tailored, strategic advice across the globe.
Taslim, with almost 20 years of experience, specialises in joint ventures, public takeovers, private equity transactions and venture capital investments, particularly in energy-related M&A. She is experienced in handling high-stakes transactions in the energy sector.
