Singapore-based commercial law firm Joyce A. Tan & Partners has deepened its intellectual property and TMT practice bench with the addition of four-decade-long industry veteran Jim Lim as an of counsel. Lim previously served as head of Withers KhattarWong’s IP and technology practice.
Jeffrey Lim, the Singaporean firm’s co-managing director, told Asia Business Law Journal that he anticipated that Jim Lim would help the firm to deepen its reach and influence across multiple practice areas, and to augment its capabilities in the IP and TMT space.
“Jim’s role will be to serve clients and their business needs on special projects and in fortifying our practices with great expertise,” said Jeffrey Lim.
Jim Lim, who was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1985, joined Singaporean law firm KhattarWong in 2011, which was eight years before it was combined with UK law firm Withers Worldwide to form a fully integrated outfit.
With a career spanning 40 years, Lim specialises in IP matters and TMT transactions covering traditional areas including copyright, trademarks and trade secrets to IP-related areas including IT, employment media and entertainment law. The Singapore-based IP and TMT veteran’s practice also involves acquisitions, joint ventures and technology transfer matters.
With Lim’s addition, Joyce A. Tan & Partners now has 12 lawyers.
