Seladore Legal, a UK disputes-only law firm, has hired Singaporean international arbitration lawyer Liang-Ying Tan as a partner as it prepares for a planned Singapore office launch.

“As we look to establish our presence in Singapore, Liang-Ying’s expertise and familiarity with both the region and our firm’s culture will be invaluable assets. Her addition strengthens Seladore’s commitment to providing top-tier arbitration services from strategic locations around the world,” said Simon Bushell, the senior partner at Seladore in London.
Headquartered in London with a branch office in Milan, Seladore announced on 5 November its imminent plan to apply for a foreign law practice licence for its branch launch in the Lion City, which will also be the firm’s first outfit in Asia and outside Europe.
Tan, who was previously a senior associate in the New York office of Herbert Smith Freehills, began her career as a justices’ law clerk at the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2007 followed by a brief stint as an associate at Rajah & Tann.
Qualified in both New York and Singapore, the international arbitration lawyer intended to eventually relocate back to the Lion City from New York, the firm said.
