Introduction

Resident in Thailand since 1994, Bennett is head of the Asia corporate team at Hunton Andrews Kurth. He has more than 25 years of practice experience in Thailand in M&A, finance, fintech, foreign investment and telecommunications, and has completed some of the largest M&A transactions in Thailand. Before joining Hunton Andrews Kurth, Bennett was a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

In the last 12 months, he has represented International Finance Corporation (“IFC”) as sole subscriber to US$150 million of green and blue bonds (Thailand’s first blue bond issue) by TMBThanachart Bank; advised IFC with its investment in US$400 million of green and blue bonds by Bank of Ayudhya; advised IFC and DEG as subscribers for $150 million of green bonds to be issued by BGrimm Power; advised IFC on its US$105 million loan to Thai Credit Retail Bank for lending to MSMEs (including women-owned MSMEs); represented China Mobile International as a major shareholder of True Corporation on its merger with Total Access Communication, which is the largest telco merger in Southeast Asia by combined enterprise value; represented JPMorgan Securities on the issue and sale of derivative warrants; and advised TikTok on its new Thai content providers’ monetisation features.
