In 2023, SNG launched its Japan Desk, in line with its initiative and commitment to furthering Indo-Japan bilateral relations and expanding on its capability of providing specialised consultancy, advisory and legal services to the firm’s Japanese clientele, Japanese companies wanting to invest and do business in India as well as Indian companies wanting to invest and do business in Japan.

In the corporate and commercial law space, SNG has several big-ticket transactions to its credit including M&A, private equity, capital markets and FDI for clients in India and overseas.

The firm regularly handles complex structured finance, acquisition finance, structured trade finance, leveraged transactions, debt capital markets, construction finance and routine banking transactions for leading banks and financial institutions in the country. In the real estate practice, it handles complex due diligence and financing of large real estate projects, logistics and data centres etc., and advises on legal issues on land acquisitions, regulatory approvals and licences as well as the financial closure of projects in residential townships, commercial real estate, hospitality, hotels and mixed-use developments.

SNG is actively engaged in matters under the restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy laws along with carrying out legal and regulatory audits in transactions. Our clients include secured creditors, committees of creditors, resolution professionals and resolution applicants. It also has a dedicated and formidable commercial litigation practice and arbitration practice with a presence in all major judicial and quasi-judicial forums.
