Introduction
Wang Qi is a senior partner at Hylands Law Firm. She graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law and Renmin University of China, where she earned her Doctor of Juridical Science degree. She also served as a postdoctoral researcher at Tsinghua University Law School. She specialises in commercial and financial dispute resolution, corporate governance and compliance, among others. She has handled numerous landmark cases that have set judicial precedents and exerted significant influence.
Wang has long provided services to banks, trust companies, private equity funds, energy enterprises, large state-owned enterprises and listed companies. She is adept at handling major and complex disputes involving financial asset management, corporate equity, commercial contracts, land and mineral energy resources. She has managed many significant and challenging cases before the Supreme People’s Court, various levels of courts across China, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and the Beijing Arbitration Commission. With extensive project experience in corporate governance and compliance, Wang not only resolves disputes but also proactively offers clients multifaceted advice on daily operations and risk prevention, excelling in providing comprehensive service solutions.
Wang possesses theoretical expertise in contract, security and corporate law, with a deep understanding of business operations and judicial adjudication rules. She is capable of thoroughly comprehending and accurately addressing the core legal issues of cases and client demands, proposing practical and effective strategies and solutions. Her excellent communication and co-ordination skills have earned her the trust of a wide range of clients.
Wang serves as a council member of the Beijing Property Law Research Association and the Law Research Association of the Bank of Beijing. She was recognised as one of the top 20 dispute resolution lawyers in Legalband’s 2023 rankings and has been appointed as a volunteer expert for the Supreme People’s Court’s litigation services. She also serves as an external mentor for legal master’s students at University of International Business and Economics and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. Her research work was awarded as an outstanding key project by the Securities Association of China.
