Introduction

Chen Youyou is a partner at Jinghe Law Firm. Before joining Jinghe, she had more than 10 years of experience at top-tier Chinese law firms, including Zhong Lun and AllBright Law Offices. She graduated with first class honours from University College London with a master’s degree in international commercial law.

Chen mainly focuses on investment and financing, as well as M&A. She has participated in the establishment, investment and risk management of nearly a hundred financial products, including RMB and USD funds, trusts, and asset-backed securities. She has also represented companies in biomedicine, medical devices, information technology and the internet in completing nearly a hundred rounds of financing, overseas listings and follow-on financing. She has led several cross-border M&A and acquisition projects of listed companies.

Chen has provided legal services for investments by Guotai Junan Innovation Investment, PICC Capital, Jiading Venture Capital and Shenzhen Angel FOF. She has also participated in the setup of private funds and project investments for well-known domestic and international investment institutions including XCMG Investment, China Merchants Jintai Capital, SAIC Investment, Shangqi Capital, Sunland Capital, Alan AMC, Forebright Capital, SIIG, V-Invest, Cowin Capital, Kunlun Yongda, and Lead Capital. She has acted as legal counsel for multiple internet and biomedicine companies, such as Zhibao Technology, Andabio, Artech Medical, Zhixin Medical, Aopeng Medical, and Huamu Medical, participating in their financing, overseas listings, and follow-on financing. She has led projects such as SAIC and Yinlun’s joint acquisition of US-based TDI, Jiaoxin Fund’s strategic investment in Shengyang Technology, Agile’s acquisition of CMIG Futurelife, and Hwabao WP Fund Hong Kong’s acquisition projects.

Chen co-authored Insight: Special Rights in Private Equity Investment from a Judicial Practice Perspective, which examines 12 special rights of investors in equity investment and evaluates their practical effectiveness through domestic judicial cases. The book has received positive industry feedback.
