Introduction

Wu Gang joined Commerce & Finance Law Offices in 1999, and serves as a member of its management committee. His primary areas of practice include capital markets, M&A and private equity investments. Wu has received numerous prestigious awards and recognition, such as being ranked as a “tier 1” M&A lawyer in Legalband’s 2024 China top lawyer rankings, listed as a top lawyer in the capital markets (debt and equity) category of the 2024 Chambers Global Guide, named as the 2023 Asian Legal Business (ALB) “China Dealmaker”, and won “Managing Partner of the Year” at the Legalband 2023 China Law Awards. Wu has been ranked as a top lawyer in the capital markets (debt and equity) category of the Chambers Asia-Pacific Guide for nine consecutive years, from 2015. He has also provided legal services in M&A landmark cases with significant social and industrial impact, such as the acquisition of the RMB230 billion (USD31.62bn) assets of China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom by China Tower, the re-organisation of Baosteel Group and Wuhan Iron and Steel, as well as the privatisation, restructuring and listing of Qihoo 360.
