Everton Robertson

Introduction

Everton Robertson is a corporate, private equity, finance and investment funds lawyer who has acted for major financial institutions, corporations, international investors, state-owned enterprises, institution founders, asset managers and ultra-high-net-worth individuals throughout Asia, including the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Japan and Taiwan. His focus includes general corporate, venture capital and pre-IPO financing, M&A, IPOs in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the US, and the establishment of open and close-ended investment funds.

Robertson has been a Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands lawyer for more than 24 years and a solicitor in England and Wales since 1992. He worked in London at Linklaters, White & Case, and Shearman & Sterling. He was a partner at Maples Group in Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands, Walkers and Travers Thorp Alberga in Hong Kong. He is a founding partner of ER Law in Hong Kong.

Robertson has been recognised or “highly regarded” by many legal directories and publications such as Chambers Asia-Pacific, Asian Legal Business and IFLR1000. He was named in Asia Business Law Journal’s “A-List Top 50 Offshore Lawyers”, Asian Legal Business’ “Hot 100” list of pre-eminent Asia-Pacific lawyers, China Business Law Journal‘s “A-List” and “China’s Elite 100 Lawyers” from a foreign firm.

Robertson graduated from University College London with a Bachelor of Laws.
