Yao Yuexi

Introduction

Yao Yuexi graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a Bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s degree in international law. After her graduation, Yao went to New York University School of Law and earned the LLM degree. Yao is admitted to practice law in the People’s Republic of China and in the US state of New York. She has extensive work experience in leading international law firms and one of the largest PRC law firms for many years.

Yao focuses on domestic and foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions, private equity funds, new economy and complex commercial dispute resolution. She has research and practice experience in the fields of semiconductor, artificial intelligence, new-energy vehicles and data compliance as well as in the emerging areas.

Through years of providing legal service to domestic and overseas clients from different industries, Yao and her team have developed a diversified practice with the clients’ needs at the core. Yao and her team provide reasonable, feasible and innovative one-stop legal services with respect to cross-border, cross-jurisdiction, and cross-industry complex commercial transactions and complex commercial dispute resolution projects.

Yao has been awarded the Chambers Greater China Region 2020-2024: Corporate/Commercial, the Chambers Global 2022-2023: Corporate/M&A and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific Corporate/M&A Ranking 2022.

She is a member of the Overseas Chinese, Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Seventh Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Pudong New Area, Shanghai; deputy director of the 12th International Investment and Belt and Road Professional Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association; and was named one of the Top 10 Outstanding Young Lawyers in Shanghai Pudong New Area.

Yao is also a deputy of the Fifth Women’s Congress of Shanghai Pudong New Area; a member of Shanghai Law Society; a member of the International Investment Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association; a director of All United M&A Association; and a part-time MA student adviser/director of the Law Alumni Association of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Koguan Law School.
