Introduction
Gary Fu has been engaged in the practice of law for two decades, with a primary focus on intellectual property law, corporate law and the field of M&A. Fu is renowned for his expertise in devising comprehensive solutions for corporate IP challenges, particularly within the TMT sector.
In the non-litigation arena, Fu has acted as legal counsel to numerous prestigious corporations, including Tencent, Bilibili and Sina Inc. His professional and judicious approach has consistently delivered high-calibre services to each client, earning him considerable acclaim.
In the litigation sphere, Fu has prosecuted over 600 cases and successfully presided over many significant cases. Notably, more than 20 of his cases have been recognised as the Top 10 Typical IP Cases at the provincial level, six have been designated as the Annual Typical IP Cases by the Supreme People’s Court, and two have been featured in the bulletin of the Supreme People’s Court.
Fu has been consistently recognised by Thomson Reuters as one of ALB China’s Top 15 Litigation Lawyers, Top 15 Lawyers of Choice for Chinese Clients and Top 15 IP Lawyers. He is also listed in the Chambers Legal Guide ranking of Lawyers in IP Litigation, has featured in the 100 Outstanding Lawyers in China (A-List) by the China Business Law Journal, been named among the Top 15 IP All-rounders by The Legalband and included in the Top 100 IP Experts in China by Asia IP.
Fu holds several esteemed positions, including deputy director of the IP Committee of the Shanghai Creative Industry Association; deputy director of the Game Law Committee of the Beijing Culture and Entertainment Law Society; director of the Internet Affairs Committee of the Pudong IP Association; advisory expert on civil and administrative cases for the Supreme Procuratorate; and member of the IP Committee of the National Bar Association.
Fu has contributed to the authorship of eight legal books and has published over 60 scholarly articles in professional journals, with many of them receiving accolades for their contributions to the field.
