Introduction

Mario Luza Bautista received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1975. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines in 1979. He placed sixth in the 1979 Bar Examinations.

Bautista was a Professor in Criminal Law at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He was a member of Order of the Purple Feather, the honour society of the UP College of Law. He served as chapter director of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in 1990. He is a member of the Pi Gamma Mu international honour society.

His fields of legal practice are Civil, commercial and criminal litigation; labour law; telecoms; corporate law; family law; probate; immigration; insurance; banking; securities and finance.
