Introduction

Gilbert Raymund T Reyes received his Bachelor of Science degree and his Certificate in Military Science from the University of the Philippines in 1979. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the same university in 1983, graduating magna cum laude.

Reyes was a member of the Order of the Purple Feather, the honour society of the UP College of Law. He served as chapter director of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in 1990. He was a director of the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines in 1991.

Reyes was a professorial lecturer in intellectual property law at the UP College of Law. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Gamma Mu international honour societies. His fields of legal practice are civil, commercial and criminal litigation, industrial and intellectual property law, real property law, labour law, corporate law, insurance, family law, commercial arbitration and admiralty.

He has been consistently named as a leading individual for dispute resolution by Asia’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Asialaw Profiles, Legal 500 (Asia Pacific) and Which Lawyer? Over the years, he has also been named a key practitioner in intellectual property, construction and real estate, IT, telecoms and media, labour and employment, and restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy by Asialaw Profiles and Legal 500 (Asia Pacific).
