Introduction

Ramon Andre “Raffy” Cedro is a senior partner at Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra. He leads both the litigation and the labour and employment relations groups of the firm. He is a disputes specialist, focusing on civil and commercial litigation, criminal litigation, and contentious investigations. His expertise in these fields has led Asia Business Law Journal to recognise him as one of the Philippines’ Top 100 Lawyers in 2024.

He has been successful at all levels of the courts up to the Supreme Court, from high-profile acquittals at the trial level to landmark appellate decisions in novel and publicly significant areas of law. His civil and commercial practice centres on financing disputes, employment disputes, shareholders and directors’ issues, and the enforcement of creditors’ rights. He presently counsels: the country’s largest online news website in its disputes with the government; the Philippines’ leading food and manufacturing corporations in all their labour concerns; and most recently, the fastest-growing business process outsourcing company in Asia.

Cedro also handles a variety of issues relating to family relations law, including nullity of marriage, the application and implementation of the Violence Against Women and Their Children Law, succession, and estate management.

A consistent finalist for Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year in the Philippine Law Awards from 2020 to the present, Cedro is an experienced litigator who is highly recommended by clients who describe him as always well-prepared and very reliable.
