In his more than 30 years of law practice, Zerrudo is consistently recognised as a standout figure in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame and an Eminent Practitioner by Chambers Asia Pacific for labour and employment. Zerrudo’s strategic focus on employment practice propelled his and the team’s consistent top-tier ranking in The Legal 500 since 2006 to the present and the Chambers Asia Pacific since 2009 to the present.
Zerrudo regularly advises on employment agreements, employee benefits and compensation, executive compensation, transfers, and employment-related investigations and terminations. He also handles occupational health and safety matters, discrimination law advice, trade union recognition procedures, and labour litigation. He has extensive experience representing clients engaged in business process outsourcing, IT and telecommunications, and digital transformation in the pharmaceuticals, healthcare and manufacturing sectors.
He is a distinguished figure whose legal acumen is matched by his profound commitment to social responsibility. As a key member of Quisumbing Torres’ management committee and various committees within Baker McKenzie International, he has been instrumental in steering the firm’s CSR, ID&E, and pro bono efforts towards impactful causes. In a recent initiative, he spearheaded the firm’s collaboration with Waves for Water Philippines through a memorandum of understanding to initiate a corporate social responsibility effort focused on delivering clean water to underserved Filipino communities. The project aims to supply portable water filters to target communities annually. The initiative’s first outreach was held in barangays Tuna and Balibago in Talim Island, Cardona, Rizal, areas previously affected by water-borne diseases due to poor water quality.
Zerrudo is also the director auxiliary squadron of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) – 102nd Squadron, one of the logistics partners of this CSR initiative, the national legal counsel, and the chief of staff of the Internal Affairs Service of the PCGA. His use of talent and resources to aid those in need paints a picture of a man who is as compassionate as he is competent, embodying the true spirit of service and the legal profession’s highest ideals of contributing to the greater good.
