Introduction

Mark S Gorriceta is the managing partner and head of the corporate, banking and finance, and technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) groups of Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra, a multi-awarded full-service Philippine law firm with nearly 50 lawyers with offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand (through partner firm Yusarn Audrey).

Gorriceta is regarded as a preeminent lawyer in technology and innovation in the Philippines, exhibiting pioneering expertise in fintech, blockchain, digital assets, web3 technology, e-commerce, data privacy and artificial intelligence. He also represents domestic conglomerates and top Philippine technology companies, both locally and globally, in their digitisation efforts. Additionally, Gorriceta specialises in corporate structuring, banking and finance, capital markets, equity financing, and navigating complex cross-border commercial transactions.

With over two decades of private practice experience, Gorriceta has earned acclaim from esteemed local and international publications and organisations. Asian Legal Business (ALB) also distinguished him as one of Asia’s Top 15 TMT Lawyers for consecutive years, making him the sole Filipino lawyer on the list. Some of his achievements include winning the ALB Philippine Law Award as a managing partner in 2020, and Dealmaker of the Year in 2021. Beyond his legal practice, Gorriceta contributes to the legal education sector as a faculty member at the Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business, where he teaches M&A in Corporate Finance.
