Introduction

Kristine T Torres is a partner of the firm, and head of project finance and ESG. She is also a member of the corporate and TMT practice groups.

Torres specialises in corporate and business law, M&As, technology media & TMT, capital markets, banking, finance, securities law, project finance and ESG. She led a number of complex and significant M&As of highly regulated companies, involving private and/or publicly-listed companies, and capital markets transactions, and regularly advises clients on the entry of foreign investments to the Philippines, establishment of domestic corporation and other corporate vehicles, application for primary and secondary licences with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Insurance Commission and other government agencies, cross-border and commercial transactions, joint ventures, corporate structuring, securities offerings, legal and regulatory compliance, tech licensing agreements, equity and debt capital raising transactions, PPPs and project finance deals.

Torres was named as Young Lawyer of the Year at 2023 ALB Philippine Law Awards. She was featured as one of Asia’s 40 Under 40 lawyers by the Asian Legal Business. Torres was recognised by The Legal 500 as next generation partner in TMT, and as recommended lawyer in corporate and M&A, banking and finance, projects and energy, and capital markets. Torres was also cited by IFLR1000 as rising star partner in M&A.
