Joe Nathan TENEFRANCIA

Introduction

Joe Nathan Tenefrancia is Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia’s (CMT) managing partner and head of its telecommunications and information and communications technology group. He is a litigator and a member of CMT’s litigation and dispute resolution department. He has orally argued before the Philippine Supreme Court, court of appeals, securities and exchange commission, commission on elections, and congress acting as a national board of canvassers.

With his background in mining engineering, he is also a member of CMT’s mining and natural resources department.

He was appointed assistant secretary for legal affairs (presidential management staff) under the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines. Subsequently, he was appointed as chief presidential legal counsel and then as senior deputy executive secretary for legal affairs.

He obtained his bachelor of laws in 1990 and holds a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering (1985) both from the University of the Philippines.
