Eduardo MARTINEZ

Introduction

Eduardo Martinez co-founded Martinez Vergara & Gonzalez Sociedad in 2007. He specialises in the field of dispute resolution. As head of the firm’s dispute resolution group, he represents clients in civil, criminal, and commercial litigation, both in the original and appellate levels.

Martinez is actively involved in the firm’s family law practice, having advised and represented clients on legal proceedings involving nullity of marriage, VAWC, adoption, legal separation and other domestic relations disputes.

He also has extensive experience in the field of succession law, handling extra-judicial settlements and proceedings relating to the probate of last wills and testaments, and intestate proceedings.

Martinez is likewise involved in ADR practice, and was in fact previously an appeals court mediator accredited by the Philippine Judicial Academy.

Prior to co-founding the firm’s predecessor Martinez & Mendoza in 2000, Martinez was a partner in Castillo & Poblador, specialising in litigation, immigration and IP. He was the Philippine delegate to the Intellectual Property Rights Training Course of the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation, Tokyo, Japan, in 1998.

Martinez is a regular contributor to the Daily Tribune, a local newspaper of national circulation, where he has a column – the Anteroom.

His law practice has spanned more than three decades now. He graduated from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law.
