Jude OCAMPO

Introduction

Jude Ocampo is the managing partner of Ocampo & Suralvo Law Offices. His practice focuses on M&A, corporate law, tax advisory, and energy sector transactions. He has more than two decades of experience advising global clients on multi-jurisdictional reorganisations, inbound and outbound investments, joint ventures, and regulatory compliance. He leads the firm’s M&A practice group and co-leads the tax practice group.

Ocampo advises clients on project development, financing structures and regulatory compliance in relation to energy-related transactions. His tax practice covers the structuring of tax-efficient investments and representing clients in tax audits and disputes. Prior to establishing Ocampo & Suralvo Law in 2015, he held senior positions at KPMG Philippines, Deloitte Central Asia, and EY in Central and Eastern Europe. He also served as a regional tax director and the deputy head of regional tax at DFDL.

His professional background includes government service, having served from 2004 to 2005 as an assistant secretary for legal affairs at the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry and subsequently at the Department of Finance.

Ocampo holds a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School, where he was awarded the Ayala Scholarship Grant, Lopez Scholarship Grant, and Landon H Gammon Fellowship for Academic Excellence. He earned his MBA in Finance and Supply Chain Management from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Kenan-Flagler Fellow. He has a JD from the University of the Philippines College of Law, where he later taught tax law and constitutional law as a professorial lecturer.

He contributes to leading international publications, including LexisNexis on competition law, IBFD on tax matters, and the Linklaters global data privacy guide.

Ocampo has been recognised as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in the Philippines by the Asia Business Law Journal for six consecutive years, including in 2025, and is recognised by Asialaw Profiles as a Leading Lawyer for M&A.
