Introduction

Miguel Antonio Galvez is the head of Quisumbing Torres’ immigration practice Ggroup. Under his leadership, Quisumbing Torres won the inaugural Immigration Law Firm of the Year (Philippines) award from Asia Legal Business in 2017, and back-to-back in 2019 and 2020. Galvez has been recognised as a Leading Individual in Immigration by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific from 2017 to 2025, and is ranked Band 3 for Employment (Immigration) by Chambers Asia Pacific 2024 to 2025. He is also among Asia Business Law Journal’s inaugural A-List of the Top 100 lawyers in the Philippines. He is a member of the Immigration Lawyers Association of the Philippines.

Galvez is also a member of the firm’s dispute resolution practice group. He heads the firm’s compliance and investigations focus group, and is also part of the technology, media and telecommunications, and healthcare and life sciences industry groups. He is a member and trained arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Centre, Inc. In 2022, he was cited as one of the leading arbitrators for the Southeast Asia region in the Legal 500 Private Practice Arbitration Powerlist.

Galvez’s practice includes immigration and global mobility, commercial, criminal and administrative litigation, dispute resolution, arbitration, and antibribery and anti-corruption compliance. With more than 23 years of experience, he has represented and advised various global and local clients in these areas. He has also given lectures on immigration law, remedial law, and anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance.
