Zhang has represented several landmark and high-impact projects and cases. Among these are: the first data asset registration project for a state-owned enterprise in Hangzhou; a compliance audit on personal information protection for a state-owned enterprise’s digital platform; criminal defence in the nation’s first case of hacker activity using video substitution technology; the first criminal case with civil public interest litigation in cyberspace governance in Anhui Province; and the criminal defence in the case of Junyou SU’s theft of virtual currency, marking the first case of its kind in Ningbo. His cross-border data compliance project has been included in the “Regulatory Achievements in the Digital Trade Sector of Zhejiang Province” by the Office of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee for Comprehensive Rule of Law. He also serves as legal counsel to prominent companies, such as Zhejiang Big Data Exchange Center, Be Friends Holding and Chuxing Media.

Zhang has rendered specialised compliance legal services to more than 100 enterprises across diverse industries, including e-commerce platforms, multi-channel networks, fintech, digital supply chains, online gaming, logistics technology, the internet of things, cloud computing, government services and the digital economy. He has concurrently served as legal counsel to more than 100 enterprises within the digital economy sector, and has represented and defended more than 50 significant criminal cases involving cybercrime.
