Zhang Jian has extensive experience in industries such as telecoms, media, high-tech, healthcare, FMCG, logistics, finance, insurance, environment, real estate, shipping, energy, mining and manufacturing.

He has advised various state-owned, large-scale private and emerging growth companies. He has also provided legal services on many influential deals, including: COSCO Shipping’s acquisition of Orient Overseas (International) Limited for HKD49.2 billion (USD6.3 billion); the RMB33.8 billion (USD4.6 billion) A+H-share rights issuance of China Merchants Bank; the spin-off and listing of Hutchison Whampoa’s real estate business; the merger of China CNR Corporation and China CSR Corporation; and MasterKong’s acquisition of PepsiCo’s bottled-beverage business in China. Zhang also advised on the secondary listing of JD.com, the IPO of JD Health, and the IPO of JD Logistics in Hong Kong, which were all among the ten largest IPOs of their respective years on global capital markets.
