Wang Jun

Introduction

Wang Jun is a management committee director and a founding partner of Beijing Starrise Law Firm, with a master’s degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She is a member of the 12th Beijing Lawyers Association’s criminal procedure law professional committee and women lawyers working committee. She is a contracted author at Peking University Legal Information Network, a senior researcher at Southern

Institute of Finance and Economics Law, and an ambassador for anti-telecommunications and online fraud.

In 2024, she was named one of LexisNexis’ “Under 40 Elites” in Greater China and Legalband’s “Top 15 Emerging Partners”, as well as recognised as “Managing Partner of the Year” at the Guike Annual Conference. In 2023, she was listed among China Business Law Journal’s “A-List visionaries” and bestowed the “Refreshing and Most Promising Growth Award” at the 8th Guike Annual Conference. In 2021, she was awarded Southern Institute’s “Gold Medal Lawyer” in criminal defence. Wang published a number of professional articles in core journals such as People’s Procuratorate and Chinese Lawyer. She is a dual-certified lawyer as a data protection officer (DPO) accredited by the International Association for Information Science Examinations, and a DPO based on the Chinese Personal Information Protection Law. She is an SGS-certified 2023 ISO/IEC 42001 artificial intelligence management system internal auditor.

Wang has successfully defended numerous criminal cases, amassing extensive practical experience in overlapping civil and criminal cases, specialising in duty, cyber and economic crimes, with unique experience in reviewing electronic evidence and in-depth knowledge in data compliance.
