Introduction

Raghubir Menon is a partner and the regional practice head, M&A and private equity, general corporate, at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.

Menon regularly advises large strategic corporates, sovereign wealth funds, private equity funds and MNCs on a variety of complex domestic and cross-border transactions including some of the largest public M&A acquisitions in India.

Menon actively represents corporates such as the National Stock Exchange, One97 Communications Limited, Walmart, Flipkart, Sembcorp and blue-chip private equity and sovereign wealth fund clients such as Blackstone, KKR, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, General Atlantic, GIC, Temasek, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Vista Equity Partners, Silver Lake and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund.

Prior to joining the firm, he worked with White & Case in London and Singapore, for five years.

Menon has received multiple recognitions and accolades from several international legal publications for his stellar credentials and excellence displayed in the mergers & acquisitions and private equity domain. He has been ranked “Band 1” for private equity and M&A by Chambers and Partners Asia-Pacific, 2015-2024 and Chambers & Partners Global, 2023-24. He has also been recognised on IBLJ’s A-List of India’s from 2020-23. He was also ranked #1 by deal volume with 29 deals worth USD23 billion to his credit for the Asia-Pacific region by Mergermarket, 2017-18.
