Introduction
Carlos T Ocampo is the founding partner of Ocampo and Manalo Law Firm. He currently handles the firm’s corporate law and commercial litigation practice, particularly projects involving M&A, infrastructure development, corporate finance, restructuring and insolvency, and transportation law. He has over 30 years of experience in these areas and has been involved in a broad range of complex cross-border commercial transactions and contentious matters.
In 2014, AsiaLaw named him a market-leading lawyer in the Philippines primarily for his commercial and aviation law contributions. Since 2018, the Asia Business Law Journal has acknowledged him as among the top 100 lawyers in the Philippines. He has been recommended as a leading lawyer for corporate law and M&A by leading legal publications such as Legal 500.
He is a published author and has spoken at several international law conferences.
Ocampo obtained his bachelor of arts degree in economics, cum laude, and his juris doctor degree from the University of the Philippines. He was admitted as a member of the international honour societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Gamma Mu after graduation from college. He earned executive certificates in economic development and international finance from the Harvard Kennedy School and the Harvard Law School, respectively.
Ocampo is a member of the board of three publicly listed companies, EEI Corporation, Benguet Corporation and Marcventures Holdings. He is also the vice chairman of Philippine Veterans Bank and a board member of Media Serbisyo Production Corp, among others.
