Hunton Andrews Kurth has bolstered its energy and infrastructure services in Japan with the hiring of Kristian Bradshaw as a partner from White & Case, where he previously held the role as a local partner in Tokyo.
Bradshaw, who is a registered foreign lawyer in Japan and is qualified in England and Wales, specialises in energy, infrastructure and energy transition, with expertise in areas including liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen and ammonia as well as geothermal.
The Tokyo-based energy partner, who previously spent two years practising at White & Case, had served in a senior in-house legal role between 2018 and 2022 as general counsel at Japan’s largest energy exploration production company Inpex Corporation in Tokyo.
In recent years, Bradshaw was part of a cross-jurisdictional White & Case team advising EIG-managed LNG company MidOcean Energy on its acquisition of Tokyo Gas’ interests in the Australian Gorgon, Pluto and Queensland Curtis LNG projects.
Also, among other energy-related transactions, Bradshaw co-led a US-Japan White & Case team in acting for US-based LNG company Excelerate Energy in its entry into a 20-year LNG sale and purchase agreement with Venture Global LNG
The arrival of Bradshaw comes less than six months after Hunton Andrews’ Tokyo partner Sean Conaty, a project finance and M&A lawyer, left to join Nishimura & Asahi.
